What is this service?

Product Comparison helps you decide between options you've already found. We compare them against your requirements, features, compatibility, expected usage, budget and long-term considerations such as upgradeability and running costs, and explain the trade-offs between them.

Examples: Two or three laptops you've shortlisted; Printers with different ink or toner systems; Monitors with different panels, sizes and ports; Similar products at different price points.

Product pages highlight different numbers, which makes side-by-side comparison harder than it looks. We put the options on the same footing: the same specifications, the same assumptions about use, and the same view of cost over the years you expect to keep the product.

Where the honest answer is that the options are close, we say so and tell you what would tip the balance, such as return terms, warranty length or a feature you'll actually use.

• Endorsing any brand, or being paid to prefer one
• Repair, troubleshooting, software installation, or technical support of any kind

Pricing and process

This is part of the Ask Buddy monthly plan: $49 per month for up to 60 chats. A chat and its follow-ups count as one chat. The plan renews monthly, you can cancel any month, and a first-month refund is available within 14 days. See Pricing and How It Works.
